Describe the separation duty
State whether the application is wash-water clarification, concentrate thickening or tailings handling. Identify the feed source, sampling point, reused water and upstream reagents. Mark measured values separately from estimates so the manufacturer can see the limits of the initial proposal.
Do not ask for the highest molecular weight as a substitute for explaining the required result. Particle characteristics, water and the downstream solids route help determine which anionic candidates deserve a comparison.
Ask for a bounded sample proposal
Request the proposed code, supplied form and preparation instructions for each sample. Ask what observation would distinguish the candidates. A broad catalogue range is not a measured specification for the material being shipped.
Use mineral-process approval to retain overflow quality alongside settling and underflow behavior. A rapidly moving interface can conceal residual fines or solids that the receiving equipment cannot handle.
Check the plant delivery route
Compare usable preparation volume, stock consistency and actual dosing with the proposed demand. A powder-feeder maximum is not proof that enough hydrated solution is available. Follow the floc through transfer before attributing every poor thickener result to the grade.
Manufacturer guidance on mineral separation considers feed and equipment conditions. Those factors justify a circuit-specific trial, not a guaranteed improvement from an APAM name.
Turn the result into a traceable order
Attach the selected sample, dose basis, preparation and accepted endpoints to the production-code request. Confirm quantity, packaging and destination separately from technical approval. Ask what changes would trigger another review.
Use batch release evidence when the first delivery arrives. A favorable sample establishes a candidate for controlled supply; it does not prove every later lot or every feed condition.
Purchasing evidence to keep
| Approval point | Record needed |
|---|---|
| Feed boundary | Mineral source, sampling stage, water reuse and upstream additions identify the comparison. |
| Technical gate | Overflow and underflow both meet stated requirements at a documented commercial dose. |
| Commercial identity | Approved sample, proposed production code and first-delivery documents are explicitly connected. |
